Lignocellulose stiff hollowed boards for constructions
Patent No. RO 110800C
Product description
Our proposal deals with a hollowed board of lignocellulosic materials, (the related technology and the production equipment). The product is a board of lignocellulosic materials (chips, fibers, sawdust) using resins or cement, plaster, (with or without addition of fillers either synthetics, natural, or mineral as slag, ashes, etc.) pressed perpendicular to face, with hollows in one plane or more planes and the hollows parallel or intersected at 90o. The types are:
- double - row of hollows intersected in two planes (type A);
- double - row of hollows intersected in the same plane (type B);
- single - row of hollows in a plane (type C).
The product is a flat board with variable thickness (30-70 mm, on demand). The object of this new product lies in the necessity for a rigid self-supporting board having higher thickness and lesser weight.
The existing wood based hollow boards obtained by extrusion are well known. The main disadvantage of these boards is, that, due to chips orientation perpendicular to faces, it lowers the mechanical strength, the specially bending strength, which makes necessary their surfacing with veneers of about 2 mm.
The hollow core board of this proposal removes the above disadvantages. Likewise, the alternatives using mineral binders (cement, plaster) or with slags, ashes etc. are insulating boards with high thickness and a lower specific gravity.
Proposed size of industrial boards: 915x1830 mm (3x6ft).
Board thickness: 30-70 mm.
The rate of hollows of the board volume: 15-20%.
Board density varies with wood species, ratio of hollows, glue, etc. Density values ranges between 250 and 350 Kg/cum.
In case of boards made with mineral binders (cement, plaster) the density is proportionally reduced with the volume of hollows.
Application:
- Boards made exclusively with lignocellulosic materials glued with synthetic or natural resins:
- wood prefab. houses (walls, floors, ceilings, doors);
- indoor partitions;
- furniture (table tops, etc.).
- Boards made with lignocellulosic materials and mineral binders (cement, plaster, etc) with or without slag, ashes:
The product can be veneered, paper laminated, painted, etc. In case of using weather resisting binders or cement the boards can be finished like any cladding.
